Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has secured a major framework agreement with Denmark’s Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO), marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s military logistics capabilities. The deal covers the procurement of up to 1,000 HX and TG trucks, with an initial order exceeding 100 vehicles valued at tens of millions of euros, officially recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025. The agreement goes beyond vehicle acquisition, incorporating a comprehensive package of maintenance, spare parts, and training services to ensure operational readiness. In addition, Denmark has extended its sustainability contract for the existing fleet for another four years, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the HX family of tactical trucks. This dual approach of new procurement and extended support highlights Denmark’s intent to modernize while maintaining continuity across its logistics systems.
Strategically, the deal represents Denmark’s return as a user of the HX family, reaffirming confidence in the platform’s proven reliability. For RMMV, it consolidates its market position in Northern Europe, where competition for military logistics contracts remains intense. By adopting HX trucks as the standard tactical vehicle for the Danish Army, Copenhagen signals its alignment with NATO partners who already operate the same system, thereby enhancing interoperability in multinational operations.
Colonel Thomas Øgendahl Knudsen of DALO emphasized that the acquisition of these all-terrain trucks will significantly boost the combat effectiveness of Danish soldiers in the coming years. His remarks underline the importance of mobility and logistical resilience in modern warfare, where heavy infantry brigades depend on reliable transport to sustain operations. Andre Barthel, CEO of RMMV, welcomed the continuation of cooperation with Denmark, noting that the country has been a key partner in the HX User Nation Group since the program’s inception.
The HX2 series, which forms the backbone of the contract, is a military off-the-shelf product designed for extreme durability and tested for a service life exceeding 20 years. Available in configurations ranging from 4x4 to 10x10, the trucks are engineered for high maneuverability and performance in challenging terrain. Their versatility makes them suitable not only for military forces but also for government agencies and security organizations requiring dependable heavy-duty transport.
Globally, more than 20,000 HX trucks are in service, reflecting widespread acceptance across NATO and allied nations. Operators include Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Singapore, Slovenia, Denmark, and Ukraine. This broad user base demonstrates the platform’s adaptability to diverse operational environments and its role in reinforcing collective defense capabilities.
For Denmark, the agreement represents more than a procurement decision; it is a strategic investment in future readiness and alliance cohesion. By standardizing on the HX family, the Danish Army ensures compatibility with partners while securing a proven solution for its heavy brigade ambitions. For RMMV, the deal underscores the enduring appeal of the HX platform and its ability to meet the evolving demands of modern armed forces.
