Israel Signs $8.5 Billion Deal for F-15IA, Deliveries Begin 2031
The Israeli Air Force is set to receive a new generation of fighters derived from the F-15 EX, designated F-15IA (Israel Advanced). The procurement agreement, valued at up to 8.5 billion dollars, was finalized on December 29, 2025, marking one of the largest modernization efforts for Israel’s combat aviation fleet in recent years.

Israel has confirmed that the first deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2031, with the official contract notice specifying that all work related to the program should be completed by 2035. This timeline reflects the long-term planning required for integrating advanced strike aircraft into operational service, including training, infrastructure adaptation, and logistical support.
The procurement plan includes an initial purchase of 25 aircraft, with the option to add another 25. These new fighters are intended to gradually replace the aging F-15A, B, C, and D models, while simultaneously reinforcing the strike capabilities of the force. The F-15IA is closely related to the American F-15EX but will incorporate unique Israeli systems and mission-specific modifications.
At present, the Israeli Air Force maintains a fleet of approximately 66 F-15s, composed of early F-15A and F-15C airframes alongside the more modern F-15I “Ra’am” strike variant. These squadrons are based at installations such as Tel Nof and Hatzerim, where they continue to play a central role in long-range missions and air superiority tasks.
The F-15IA will be equipped with advanced weapon systems that integrate Israeli-developed technologies. These upgrades are intended to provide the aircraft with modern capabilities, ensuring it remains effective in complex operational environments.
